F.A.Q.

Q. I’m not enrolled in hospice care. Can you come out to my home to euthanase my animal?

A. Yes, this option is available to you, even if you are not currently enrolled in a Hospice Care Plan, although our veterinary hospice patients always receive priority if they need us. We always perform a pre-euthanasia assessment and consultation in your home for new patients, to make sure we can meet your needs as well as those of your animal companion. It’s important to point out that we do not perform convenience euthanasia of healthy, happy animals, so please don’t ask. Our refusal is sure to offend.

Q. While you’re here, can you just take a look at my other dog? He’s got a lump/needs vaccination/has dirty teeth.

A. No, we provide hospice care and end-of-life services only. We don’t provide other forms of veterinary care. We will help your other pets to cope with this time of transition with general behavioural advice, but we will refer any problems requiring treatment or medication back to your regular veterinarian, or onto a specialist for care, as appropriate.
